Getting started
Step 1: Install from Chrome Web Store
Amazon Product Insights is available on the Chrome Web Store under the name Amazon Product Insights.

The direct Chrome Web Store listing link is pending. Search for Amazon Product Insights in your browser’s extension store.
- Open Chrome Web Store and search for Amazon Product Insights.
- Click Add to Chrome on the extension card.
- Review the permissions (see below for details).
- Click Add extension to confirm.
Step 2: Pin the extension icon
After installing, you’ll see the extension icon in your Chrome toolbar. We recommend pinning it for quick access:
- Click the puzzle icon in the top-right corner of Chrome.
- Find Amazon Product Insights in the menu.
- Click the pin icon next to it to keep it visible in your toolbar.
Step 3: Sign in
Amazon Product Insights uses your existing Hilal account. No new password is needed:
- Click the extension icon in your toolbar to open the sidepanel.
- You’ll see a login screen if you’re not signed in.
- Click Login — this uses the same session as your hilalsoftware.tools account.
- If you’re already logged into Hilal, you’ll be signed in automatically.
- Once signed in, you can switch organizations from the Profile tab in the sidepanel.
Permissions explained
The extension asks for these permissions to function:
| Permission | Why it’s needed |
|---|---|
| Side panel | Opens the sidepanel UI where you access Ask, Chat, Product Analysis, and other tools |
| Cookies | Detects your Hilal login session so you stay signed in without re-entering credentials |
| Active tab | Reads the current page to detect products on Amazon and Seller Central |
| Tabs | Monitors which tab you’re viewing to show context-specific tools |
| Storage | Saves your settings, preferences, keyboard shortcuts, and prompts locally in Chrome |
| Identity | Supports secure authentication with your Hilal account |
| Context Menus | Adds right-click shortcuts like “Add to Knowledge Base” on web pages |
Supported browsers
- Chrome: Version 90 and later (Manifest v3)
- Firefox: Not yet supported
Next steps
Once signed in:
- Explore the Sidepanel assistant tabs to use Ask, Chat, and AI tools.
- Visit an Amazon product page to try the Product analytics widget.
- Open Amazon Seller Central to see the Seller Central tools.
- Head to the Options to customize keyboard shortcuts and AI settings.
