Multi-region ads
The Amazon Advertising API is per-region: NA, EU, and FE each have their own Ads accounts, their own consent flows, and their own data. Hilal preserves that separation while giving you a unified campaign manager.
In this guide:
- Understand region scoping
- See which regions are connected
- Persist your region selection
- Disconnect a region
How regions work
Three regions:
- North America (NA) — US, CA, MX, BR
- Europe (EU) — UK, DE, FR, IT, ES, NL, etc.
- Far East (FE) — JP, AU, SG, etc.
Each region’s Ads account is separate. Connecting NA doesn’t grant access to EU; you need to authorize each one independently. See Connect Amazon Ads.
Step 1: See which regions are connected
Go to Amazon → Advertising connections.
Each region card shows:
- Connection status — Connected, Expired, or Not connected.
- Marketplaces in scope — the marketplaces you ticked during the OAuth flow.
- Last sync — when Hilal last pulled campaign data from that region.
Step 2: Persist your region selection
Above the campaign list, the Region filter lets you scope the entire Advertising section to one or more regions. Hilal persists this selection per user — close the tab, come back, your selection is still there.
This matters for multi-region operators: you can keep the campaign manager focused on the regions you actually run that day without other regions cluttering the view.
Step 3: Disconnect a region
To disconnect a region (e.g., you stopped advertising in EU), open the region card → Disconnect.
Hilal:
- Revokes Amazon’s OAuth grant.
- Stops syncing campaign data from that region.
- Keeps historical data — past campaigns and reports stay in your account so you can still report against them.
Disconnecting one region doesn’t affect the others.
Step 4: Reconnect later
If you reconnect later, Hilal reuses your historical campaign IDs and resumes the sync where it left off.
Marketplace selection within a region
When you connect or reconnect a region, Hilal asks which marketplaces within that region you want managed. You can change this later: open the region card → Edit marketplaces.
If you sell in DE and FR but not in IT or ES, untick IT and ES so they don’t show up in the campaign list or the analytics.
Troubleshooting
- One region’s sync hasn’t updated in days. The token may have expired. Check the region card — if it says Expired, click Reconnect.
- Campaigns from one marketplace are missing. The marketplace probably isn’t ticked. Open the region card → Edit marketplaces → tick it.
- I see campaigns from a region I disconnected. Disconnect kept the historical data. To remove it from views entirely, also untick the region in the Region filter.
