Choose your marketplaces
Amazon operates 15+ regional storefronts. Most sellers use a handful: a home market plus one or two satellites. Hilal’s marketplace selector tells the whole app — dashboard, inventory, ads, finances — which marketplaces are yours. Data from other marketplaces (which Amazon will still return for your Seller account) is filtered out.
In this guide:
- Open the marketplace settings
- Select your active marketplaces
- Set a primary marketplace
- Understand how the selection scopes the app
Prerequisites
- You’ve completed Connect your Amazon Seller account.
- You’re an Owner or Admin.
Step 1: Open marketplace settings
Go to Settings → Marketplaces in the sidebar.
You’ll see three groups: North America, Europe, and Far East, each with a list of marketplaces. By default, every marketplace your Seller authorization granted is available; none are active until you tick them.
Step 2: Tick the marketplaces you sell in
Tick the checkbox for each marketplace your business is actively selling in. Most sellers tick:
- North America: US, often CA and MX
- Europe: UK, often DE, FR, IT, ES, NL
- Far East: JP, sometimes AU, SG
Don’t tick a marketplace just because Amazon authorized it — only the ones you actually use. Inactive marketplaces still appear in your Seller account but won’t clutter Hilal.
Step 3: Set a primary marketplace
The primary marketplace is the default the dashboard, finances, and inventory views show when no marketplace filter is set. Pick the one that generates the most revenue. You can change it any time.
Step 4: Save and review
Click Save. Hilal kicks off a background re-sync that scopes all your inventory, orders, and ads data to the selected marketplaces. The dashboard refreshes with the new scope.
How the selection scopes the app
The marketplace selection is consumed everywhere:
| Section | Scope behavior |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | KPI tiles default to the primary marketplace; a top-bar filter lets you switch or aggregate. |
| Inventory | Stock and listings show for selected marketplaces only. |
| Advertising | Campaigns scope by region + marketplace. (Each region needs its own Ads connection.) |
| Finances | Revenue, fees, and P&L are summed across selected marketplaces. The exporter respects the same scope. |
| Customer Hub | Buyer messages and review data filter by selected marketplaces. |
Adding a marketplace later is non-destructive — Hilal back-fills history when you tick a new box.
Troubleshooting
- A marketplace I sell in isn’t in the list. Amazon only authorizes marketplaces that are active on your Seller account. Open Seller Central, expand to that marketplace, then come back to Hilal and click Refresh marketplaces at the top of the list.
- My data didn’t refresh after saving. The re-sync is async. Wait a minute, then refresh. If still empty, click Retry sync on the Amazon connection page.
- I’m seeing “Marketplace not in your plan” warnings. Your subscription tier limits how many marketplaces you can have active. Upgrade or untick a marketplace.
