Connect Amazon Ads

Unlike the Seller Partner API (which covers your whole Seller account in a single connection), the Amazon Advertising API is per region. North America, Europe, and Far East each have their own Ads account and require their own consent flow. You can connect one, two, or all three — or none, if you don’t run PPC ads.

In this guide:

  • Open the Ads connection screen
  • Authorize each region you advertise in
  • Verify campaigns appear

Prerequisites

  • You’ve completed Connect your Amazon Seller account.
  • An Amazon Advertising account in each region you want to connect. Ads accounts are created the first time you run a campaign in Seller Central; if you’ve never advertised, there’s nothing to connect.
  • You’re an Owner or Admin in your Hilal organization, or have the ads.connect permission.

Step 1: Open the Ads connection screen

In Hilal, go to Amazon → Advertising connections in the sidebar (or click Connect Amazon Ads on the welcome screen).

You’ll see three region cards: North America, Europe, and Far East. Each shows a Connect button.

Step 2: Connect a region

Click Connect on the region you want to authorize. You’re redirected to advertising.amazon.com for that region (or the regional equivalent).

Sign in with the Amazon account that owns the Ads profile in that region (it can be the same account as your Seller, or different). Approve the requested permissions:

  • Read campaigns — campaign metadata, ad groups, keywords, ASINs.
  • Read reports — performance data, attribution, ACoS.
  • Write campaigns — create, pause, resume, and edit campaigns when you do so from inside Hilal.

Click Allow. Amazon redirects you back to Hilal.

Step 3: Pick your marketplaces in that region

After the OAuth redirect, Hilal shows the marketplaces in that region you have access to and asks which ones you want Hilal to manage ads for. Select all of them — or just the ones you actually sell in.

Click Save selection. The region card flips to Connected, showing the marketplaces in scope and the date of the last campaign sync.

Step 4: Connect additional regions

Repeat Steps 2–3 for any other regions you sell in. Each region is independent — you can connect them all on day one or come back later.

Step 5: Verify campaigns appear

Open Advertising in the sidebar. The campaign list populates with the campaigns Amazon returned from the connected regions. The first sync can take a few minutes for large accounts.

If the list is empty after 5 minutes:

  • Check that the Ads account in that region actually has campaigns.
  • Verify the marketplaces you selected in Step 3 are the ones with active campaigns.
  • Click Refresh in the campaign list header to force a re-sync.

Troubleshooting

  • “No advertising accounts found.” The Amazon account you signed in with doesn’t own an Ads profile in that region. Sign in with a different Amazon account.
  • “Region already connected.” You — or a teammate — already authorized this region. Either delete the existing connection or use it as is.
  • “Insufficient permissions.” Your Hilal role doesn’t have ads.connect. Ask an Owner or Admin.
  • Campaigns from one marketplace are missing. You probably didn’t select that marketplace in Step 3. Open the region card → Edit marketplaces → tick the missing marketplace → Save.

What’s next

Tell Hilal which marketplaces your business actually sells in so the entire app scopes its data correctly.
