Take the first-run tour
Hilal Software ships with an interactive in-app tour, powered by driver.js, that walks you through every major section the first time you visit it. It’s the fastest way to get oriented after Amazon is connected and your team is in.

Prerequisites
- You’ve completed steps 1–5 of the Getting started guide.
- The first-run tour fires automatically the first time you open each section. If you’ve dismissed it, you can replay it manually.
Step 1: Trigger the tour
The tour fires automatically the first time you open a section that has one. To run it manually:
- Open the section (Dashboard, Inventory, Advertising, etc.).
- Click the ? help icon in the top-right of the page.
- Click Take the tour.
The tour takes over the page with a translucent overlay and a series of callouts pointing at the UI.
Step 2: Move through the steps
Each tour step has:
- A callout pointing at the relevant UI element with a short explanation.
- Next / Back buttons.
- A progress dot row at the bottom showing where you are.
- An optional embedded video for steps that benefit from a moving demo (signaled by a play icon in the callout).
Press Esc at any time to exit the tour. Hilal remembers you exited (in a cookie) so it won’t auto-fire that tour again — you can still replay manually from the help menu.
Step 3: Replay any tour later
Tours are stored per-section. To replay:
- Open the section.
- Click ? → Take the tour.
The dismissal cookie is keyed per tour, so replaying one doesn’t reset the others.
Step 4: Hide the global help icon while a tour runs
If you’re recording your screen, presenting, or just want a clean view, the global help icon hides automatically while a tour is active. It reappears when you exit. There’s no setting to toggle this — it’s automatic.
Available tours
The first-run tour exists for the major sections. Quick guide to what each covers:

Troubleshooting
- The tour doesn’t start. Check that you’re on a section that has one. Some smaller pages (Settings → Profile, individual SKU pages) don’t have a tour.
- The callout points at the wrong element. Layout shifted while the tour was loading. Refresh and try again.
- The video in a tour step won’t play. YouTube embeds require third-party cookies — if your browser blocks them, the inline video won’t load. Click the YouTube link in the callout to open it in a new tab.
