Stock tracking and alerts
Stock tracking is the backbone of the Inventory section. It pulls live stock from Amazon’s SP-API for the inventory you have at FBA, and combines it with your own warehouse data for FBM and pre-FBA stock. Set thresholds and Hilal pings you before you stock out.
In this guide:
- Open the Stock view
- Read the per-SKU stock breakdown
- Set a low-stock threshold
- See and acknowledge alerts
Prerequisites
- Your Amazon Seller account is connected.
- Optional: at least one warehouse configured if you stock product yourself. See Multi-warehouse.
Step 1: Open the Stock view
Go to Inventory → Stock in the sidebar.
The list defaults to all active SKUs across selected marketplaces, sorted by days-of-cover ascending — the SKUs about to run out are at the top.
Step 2: Read the per-SKU stock breakdown
Click any SKU to open the detail panel:
| Field | What it means |
|---|---|
| Available | Stock buyable right now (FBA available + your warehouse stock). |
| Inbound | Stock on its way to FBA (in shipments you’ve created). |
| Reserved | Stock allocated to pending orders. |
| Unfulfillable | Stock at FBA that’s damaged or expired. |
| Days-of-cover | Available divided by recent daily run-rate. |
| Reorder point | Threshold at which Hilal flags the SKU as low. Default = lead time × daily run-rate × safety factor; you can override. |
Step 3: Set a low-stock threshold
Two ways to threshold:
- Default rule — Inventory → Settings → Reorder rules. Pick a formula (e.g., “lead time × 30-day average + 14-day safety stock”) that applies to every SKU.
- Per-SKU override — open the SKU’s detail panel, click Edit reorder point, set a custom number.
Step 4: See and acknowledge alerts
When a SKU drops below its reorder point, Hilal:
- Tags the row in the stock list with a red Low chip.
- Adds it to the dashboard’s Lowest-stock SKUs card.
- Sends a notification (in-app and optionally email/Slack — set in Settings → Profile → Notifications).
Click the alert to mark it acknowledged. Acknowledged alerts disappear until the SKU drops further or is restocked and drops again.
Troubleshooting
- Stock shows “—” instead of a number. The Seller-account sync hasn’t completed for that SKU. Wait, then click Refresh at the top of the list.
- Days-of-cover is wildly off. Either you have very thin sales history (Hilal needs ~14 days to build a stable run-rate) or seasonality skewed it. Override the reorder point manually.
- The alert says “Low” but I have stock at FBA. Hilal counts only available stock. Check whether the bulk of your stock is inbound or unfulfillable.
