What is Product Research?
Product Research is Hilal Software’s product-finder. You describe what you’re looking for — by category, niche, free-text, or competitive constraints — and Hilal returns a ranked list of Amazon products with a single composite SellerScore (0–100) that combines six independent measures of opportunity into one number you can sort by.
It’s built for the moment in an Amazon seller’s workflow when the question is “what should I sell next?” — not “how is what I’m selling doing?” (that’s the rest of Hilal Software).
What does Product Research offer?
- One composite SellerScore. Six sub-scores rolled into a single 0–100. Demand. Margin. Competition. Trend. Seasonality. Cross-platform pricing. Each sub-score is independently visible if you want to dig in. → SellerScore explained
- Two ways to search. A guided form for when you know the parameters (category, price band, fulfillment), or a free-text AI chat for when you’d rather describe the niche in plain English and let the AI extract the parameters. → Searching
- AI brief on every product. A short, AI-generated paragraph per product covering the opportunity, the risks, the positioning angle, and a sourcing note. → AI brief
- Score reasoning. A “why this score” explanation for any product so the score isn’t a black box. → Score reasoning
- Watchlist. Save anything interesting; come back later; see how the metrics drifted. → Watchlist
- Search history. Every search is a snapshot — re-fetch it without paying credits, or re-run it for fresh data. → History & re-run
- PDF and CSV exports. Take results offline for sharing or supplier outreach. → Exports
- Credit-based usage. Light usage stays within your free credits; heavy usage scales with your Hilal Software plan. → Plans & credits
What sets Product Research apart?
- One number, six perspectives. Most product-research tools surface raw metrics and leave you to integrate them; Hilal does the integration via a composite SellerScore that you can also tune by adjusting the weights.
- AI-native, not AI-bolted-on. Chat is a peer of the form (not a wrapper around it); intent extraction translates English to a structured search; AI briefs and score reasoning are first-class outputs, not afterthoughts.
- Built into Hilal Software. Same sign-in, same plan, same data scope. Products you find here drop into the rest of the platform — your inventory, your campaigns, your finances — without any export-import dance.
- Honest about uncertainty. Every result carries a data-quality score and surfaces warnings when a sub-score is missing real data and falling back to a placeholder.
Who uses Product Research?
- New Amazon sellers doing a first round of niche/product validation.
- Established sellers scouting their next product line — sized for fit with their existing brand, fulfillment, and supplier setup.
- Brand managers and agencies evaluating a category for a client before committing to listing.
- Internal Hilal Software ops teams answering “should we keep this SKU?” with a structured score.
Is Product Research for you?
If you sell on Amazon and need a structured way to answer “is this product worth selling?”, yes. The SellerScore is the headline; everything else (chat, watchlist, exports, AI brief) is in service of getting you to a high-conviction decision faster.
