Launch Score
Launch Score will be an estimate per search result showing the weekly units you’d need to sell to rank on page one for that keyword.
In this guide:
- What Launch Score will show
- How to use it in your strategy
- When Launch Score will appear or be unavailable
What Launch Score will show
When available, Launch Score will appear on search results as a badge: ~N units/week to compete. This will be the estimated weekly sales volume needed to reach page-one position for that product’s keyword, based on current competition and demand data.
Understanding the breakdown
When available, clicking a Launch Score badge will show its details:
| Field | What it will mean |
|---|---|
| Status | ok (Launch Score calculated), insufficient_data (not enough data yet), or error (temporary API issue). |
| Competitor count | How many competing products rank on page 1 for this keyword. |
| Demand factor | Search volume for this keyword (higher = more buyer traffic). |
| Quality | Estimate confidence based on available data. |
Using Launch Score to evaluate opportunities
When available: A low Launch Score means you need fewer weekly units to compete for page-one visibility — lower barrier to entry and faster path to visibility.
A high Launch Score means the keyword is saturated; you’d need significant volume to rank.
Combine with SellerScore: a product with strong fundamentals (SellerScore > 70) plus a low Launch Score is often a strong opportunity.
