Notes on watchlist items
Each watchlist row carries an optional notes field — your free-text annotation. Use it for whatever helps you remember why the product is on the list.
In this guide:
- Add a note
- Edit / clear a note
- Patterns that work well
- Length limits
Add a note
Two ways:
- At save time. When you add a product to the watchlist (from the product detail page), an inline notes field appears. Type and save.
- Later. On any watchlist row, tap the row’s ⋯ menu → Edit notes.
Edit / clear a note
Same path: row → ⋯ → Edit notes. Update the text or clear it entirely. Save.
The note is per-watchlist-entry. Removing the row from the watchlist deletes the note.
Patterns that work well
Decision shorthand
- “sample ordered 2026-04-15, awaiting”
- “compared to WIDGET-A; choosing WIDGET-A”
- “saved for Q4 review”
Supplier-side
- “contacted supplier ABC, MOQ 1000”
- “verify OEKO-TEX certification”
- “check if supplier ships to FBA UK directly”
Risk flags
- “trademark concern; investigate before listing”
- “crowded; only worth pursuing with brand-distinguishing positioning”
- “saturated by Amazon Basics; deprioritize”
Follow-up triggers
- “revisit in 30 days”
- “check after Q4 to see if seasonality holds”
- “share with ops team Tuesday”
Length limits
- Soft limit: ~500 characters. Beyond that, the row’s notes display gets truncated with a “more…” link.
- Hard limit: ~5000 characters per note. Longer notes belong in AI Notes or external docs, with a short pointer in the watchlist note.
Searching by notes
The watchlist’s “Has notes” filter narrows to rows that have any note. Free-text search across notes is on the roadmap.
For now, if you need a “find all watchlist rows mentioning X” workflow, it’s faster to scroll the list with the filter on or to keep notes in a separate AI Notes hub.
Coming soon
- Notes search — full-text query across all watchlist notes.
- Note templates — pick from common templates (“Supplier check”, “Pre-launch review”).
- Mentions and shares —
@teammateto surface a note in their watchlist (alongside the collections feature).
