Glossary
When the docs use a term you haven’t seen before, look it up here.
ACoS — Advertising Cost of Sale
The percentage of attributed sales from an ad campaign spent on the ad itself. ACoS = ad spend / attributed ad sales × 100. The Advertising section reports it per campaign and across the whole account.
Add-on
An incremental purchase that stacks on top of your base subscription — extra AI tokens, extra members, extra marketplaces. See Plans, usage & pricing.
Admin
The role one tier below Owner. Can manage members, billing, integrations, and data — but cannot delete the organization. See Key concepts → Role.
Ads API (Amazon Advertising API)
The Amazon API that powers Hilal’s Advertising section. Each Amazon region (NA, EU, FE) has its own Ads connection. See Connect Amazon Ads.
ASIN — Amazon Standard Identification Number
Amazon’s 10-character product identifier. Unique per region.
Bin location
A specific shelf, slot, or pallet inside a warehouse. Multi-warehouse Hilal tracks stock down to the bin if you set it up. See Multi-warehouse.
Bundle
A SKU made up of multiple component SKUs, sold as one unit. Hilal tracks both the bundle stock and the underlying components.
Campaign
A single Amazon PPC ad campaign — Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, or Sponsored Display.
Connection
An OAuth grant from Hilal to a third-party API. The two big ones are SP-API (Seller Partner) and Ads API (Advertising). See also: Seller Partner API connection.
FBA — Fulfilled by Amazon
The Amazon program where you ship inventory to Amazon’s warehouses and Amazon ships it to buyers. Hilal’s FBA Shipments section plans, builds, and tracks these inbound shipments.
FBM — Fulfilled by Merchant
The Amazon program where you ship orders yourself. Hilal tracks both FBA and FBM stock.
Hilal Auth
Hilal’s identity provider — the SSO that signs you in to all Hilal products with one account.
Marketplace
One of Amazon’s 15+ regional storefronts (US, UK, DE, JP, etc.). You select which marketplaces you sell in under Settings → Marketplaces.
Member
A person you’ve invited into your organization. See Key concepts → Member.
NL2SQL
“Natural language to SQL.” A Hilal AI tool that turns an English question into a safe parameterized SQL query against your seller data and runs it. See NL2SQL.
Organization
The top-level container that owns your Amazon connections, inventory, campaigns, team, and subscription. See Key concepts → Organization.
Owner
The role that owns the organization. There’s always exactly one Owner. See Key concepts → Role.
P&L — Profit and Loss
A financial report showing revenue, cost of goods sold, expenses, and net profit over a period. Hilal’s Finances section builds P&Ls per period, marketplace, brand, or SKU.
PPC — Pay-Per-Click
The advertising model Amazon Ads uses. You bid for placement and pay when someone clicks your ad. Hilal’s Advertising section is a PPC manager.
Purchase order (PO)
A formal order from you to a vendor for stock. Hilal’s PO module tracks status from raised → confirmed → shipped → received.
RBAC — Role-Based Access Control
The permission model where access is granted by role, not by individual user. Hilal’s roles are Owner, Admin, Member.
Region (Amazon)
A group of marketplaces. NA = US, CA, MX, BR. EU = UK, DE, FR, IT, ES, NL. FE = JP, AU, SG. Ads API connections are per region.
SKU — Stock Keeping Unit
Your internal product identifier. One ASIN can map to multiple SKUs (different bundles, different fulfillment channels).
SP-API (Seller Partner API)
The Amazon API that powers Hilal’s inventory, orders, fees, and reports. One connection covers your whole Seller account.
Subscription
Your Hilal plan — Free, Basic, Premium, or Enterprise — plus any add-ons. See Plans, usage & pricing.
Superset
Apache Superset, the open-source BI tool. Hilal embeds Superset dashboards under Dashboard → Superset BI dashboards for power users.
TACoS — Total Advertising Cost of Sale
ACoS but measured against total sales (not just ad-attributed). A truer measure of ad efficiency at the account level.
Tour (first-run tour)
The driver.js-powered interactive walkthrough that fires the first time you open a section. See First-run tour.
Webhook
An HTTP callback. Hilal listens for webhooks from Amazon, Stripe, and a few other partners.
Worktree
An isolated working directory used internally for long-running operations. Not user-visible.
