Quick-actions FAB
The FAB (Floating Action Button) is the small circular button bottom-right of most screens. Tapping expands it into a quick-actions menu — the four things you do most on mobile, one tap away.
In this guide:
- Find the FAB
- Use the four quick actions
- Long-press for press-and-hold capture (coming soon)
The four quick actions
| Action | What it opens |
|---|---|
| AI Features | The animated AI Features home with shortcuts to Document Chat, Ask the Database, Prompts library. |
| All Chats | The unified inbox (same as the Chats tab). |
| New Chat | Pick a starting point — upload a doc, pick a table, or free-form prompt. |
| Notes | Jump to the Notes list, with a + button ready for a new note. |
Tap the FAB to expand; tap an action to navigate; tap anywhere else (or the FAB again) to dismiss without picking.
Coming soon: long-press for voice capture
Long-pressing the FAB will start a voice-note capture. Release to save. → Voice-to-note quick capture (coming soon)
This will be the fastest path from “I just thought of something” to “it’s saved as a note in Hilal.”
Customizing the FAB
The four actions are fixed today. Customizable order and content (e.g., adding “Take photo for note” or “New PO”) are on the roadmap.
Where the FAB doesn’t appear
A handful of screens hide the FAB to avoid covering important controls:
- The full-screen recording modal.
- The full-screen camera view.
- The sign-in screen (you don’t have a session yet).
Everywhere else, it’s there.
