Install the app
The Hilal Mobile App ships on iOS and Android. There are three ways to install it depending on whether you want the public release or early-access builds.
In this guide:
- Install from the App Store (iOS, public)
- Install from Google Play (Android, public)
- Join TestFlight (iOS, beta)
- Install an EAS internal build (early access, both platforms)
Prerequisites
- An iOS 14+ device (iPhone or iPad), or an Android 8.0+ device.
- A Hilal account on either Hilal Software or Hilal Chatbot. If you don’t have one yet, sign up on the web first.
Option 1: App Store (iOS)
Open the App Store, search for Hilal, and tap Get. The app is free.
Option 2: Google Play (Android)
Open Google Play, search for Hilal, and tap Install. The app is free.
Option 3: TestFlight (iOS, beta)
If you want early access to features that haven’t shipped to the App Store yet — including some of the What’s new Coming-soon items — join the TestFlight beta.
- Email support@hilalsoftware.tools with the email address tied to your Apple ID.
- Receive a TestFlight invite and follow the link.
- Install TestFlight from the App Store if you don’t have it.
- Tap Accept in TestFlight and install the Hilal beta build.
TestFlight builds expire 90 days after install — you’ll get a notification when a refresh is available.
Option 4: EAS internal build (early access, both platforms)
For team members and select beta testers, Hilal distributes pre-release builds via Expo’s EAS service. You’ll receive a direct download link from your Hilal contact:
- iOS — install via the link in mobile Safari; trust the developer profile under Settings → General → VPN & Device Management.
- Android — install via the APK link; allow installation from unknown sources for your browser when prompted.
EAS builds receive over-the-air updates automatically as we ship changes.
After installing
Open the app. You’ll see a Welcome to Hilal screen with a Login with Hilal button. Continue with Sign in next.
Troubleshooting
- “App not available in your region.” Hilal is available globally. If you can’t find it, try changing your App Store / Play Store country or contact support.
- TestFlight says “expired”. Your beta build is over 90 days old. Reopen the TestFlight invite to install the latest build.
- Android: “App not installed”. Free up storage; ensure your Android version is 8.0 or newer.
